Ariane Barker has a background in international investment banking and as an Australian migrant with over a decade working in Asia, brings a diversity of insight and perspective to strategic decision-making. She began her career as an analyst with Merrill Lynch in New York. Ariane subsequently worked in the United States, Europe, Japan and Australasia in senior executive and leadership roles with Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, HSBC and JBWere. She was awarded an AICD board diversity scholarship in 2011, identified as one of seventy high potential board-ready women.
Ariane has keen interest in Education, Healthcare and the Arts, thus her roles with NFPs including: The Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI), The Royal Eye and Ear Hospital (RVEEH) and the National Gallery of Victoria Women’s Association (NGVWA). She is a Non-Executive Director of IDP Education (ASX: IEL), where she chairs the Audit and Risk Committee, and a Board member of Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation (CSC).
